They’ve both lost so much…can they find happiness in each other?

Isabella DaSilva hurtles toward California's wine country to outrun her past, planning to lose her demons among the vines and prove herself as a winemaker and start a new life.

Jonathan Sauvage is at the helm of a sinking winery, battling demons of his own and unprepared for the arrival of a fiery and opinionated apprentice.

When Isabella shows up to intern for Chateau Sauvage, and Jonathan’s past shows up in the form of a his ex-girlfriend and a baby, he’s certain both he and the winery are doomed to fail.

Can Isabella help save Jonathan’s family legacy? Will he allow anyone close enough to help steer the ship, and potentially win his heart in the process?

“I liked the story of a struggling winery as a backdrop to this novel. It was a complete well-written story. Perfect book to read on your beach vacation!” – Reviewer

I just finished Delancey Stewart’s A Rare Vintage: A Wine Country Romance. Cornell graduate Isabella DaSilva travels cross-country to Paso Robles to learn about Rhone Valley style winemaking. Soon, she and winery owner Jon Sauvage will blend varietals to capture the Pioneer Award. In addition, their lives are about to be blended, as well. I truly enjoyed this novel, and learned, too.

At the conclusion, the author shared two chapters of her next novel, Redemption Red (Wine Country Romance). Now I’m hooked! I must read this one, also.

My wonderful wife, Marge Wilson, and I have enjoyed visiting wineries in Northern California, upstate New York, and in Florida. We’ve enjoyed particularly V. Sattui in St. Helena, of the Napa Valley region in California. We also like San Sebastian Winery in St. Augustine, Florida and Tangled Oaks Winery in Grandin, Florida. These last two use the muscadine grape, which I like very much since I grew up enjoying scuppernong grapes.

Marge and I have found some wines that we like very much, and we are slowly learning more. When I have visited Lisa Shea’s website – WineIntro with Lisa Shea –

I have learned and enjoyed, but I have also seen that I don’t know enough to fully appreciate fine nuances. So, these novels of Delancy Stewart have been so good for me – informative and fun. I think they are ideal for the average wine enthusiast.

Vintage Love in the Vines Book 1 edition by Delancey Stewart Cookbooks Food Wine eBooks Reviews

A good contemporary romance, that is an easy read. Isabella arrives to wine country for a temporary job and soon finds herself in the middle of a budding romance. Jonathan has been burned by a previous relationship and is very weary, but cannot help himself about what he feels for Isabella. Past relationships come back to complicate matters, and other secondary characters. I am planning to buy book 2 of the series..
The story about a winemaker is interesting if not feasible. I was surprised that it was set in the 1980s but that didn't seem to affect the story line. Good for quick read and some basic wine knowledge.
A light romance with a happy ending. This story is fun full of slightly unbelievable complications and everything is tied up nearly by the end. It was worth reading and I loved the Central Coast of California setting.
Oh and some day I want to travel to the land where all women are ethereal and the men have thin hips and well defined gluteus.
A nice romance set in California. A young graduate of a wine makers course from an east coast college, has travelled across country to intern with a small family owned California winery. The young owner and his sister have lost their father recently and the business is not doing well. So the expert has been asked to come from Cornell to intern with the hopes of finding the right path for the winery.
A fluffy but satisfying story with the California wine country as a background. My only complaint-which is why I gave this book 4 stars insteadof 5 stars- is why do author's feel like they have to describe in detail the sexual encounters of the characters-I mean seriously if I wanted that I'd read all the "historical romance" they have out there. Maybe the term "contemporary romance" means that the book has characters with descriptive sexual encounters-hmmmmmmm.
Although the ending was pretty easy to predict is was still a quick fun read.
A very enjoyable read. The characters were easy to identify with. The main character did not whine and complain and do a lot of the usual inner monologue BS, although at some point i just wanted to smack the main gal for being a moron because it was obvious to the reader and to the character what the path was, but the pandering towards the end just seemed like a way to elongate the story a bit. There was some good back and forth with character perspective at the beginning, but it seemed to go a bit more one-sided towards the end. The story pace was fast and consistent, but it seemed some extra fluff was built in to add page count.

Overall, the book was easy to read, had some decent characters and was enjoyable. I will probably be downloading the next book int he series.
I really like Ms. Stewart's writing style and this book flowed very well. But I also agree with another review stating "the plot was settled way too easily and the conflicts were never really resolved... the book just kind of ended". I just didn't relate with their struggle or conflict. I get why the h ran away from New York, but there wasn't enough background for the H character. Was he just struggling with his previous failed relationship and his father's death (which the cause of death was not explained). If the h was ready to run away because she was afraid of losing H - just like she lost everyone else she ever loved, then how does a proposal settle her feelings about loss.
